Unfortunately, it has been reported previously that Amanda Elizabeth Davies has passed away at the age of 42.
The daughter of soap opera veteran Erika Slezak, who earned a record six Daytime Emmy Award victories over her extensive four-decade career, passed away this week under undisclosed circumstances.
Davies was featured in multiple episodes of One Life to Live in 2003, where she portrayed the teenage version of her mother’s iconic character, Victoria “Viki” Lord.
This distressing information was officially confirmed late on Monday through Slezak’s official website, where the following statement was posted:
“It is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of Erika’s daughter, Amanda Elizabeth Davies, who died very suddenly.
“The family is heartbroken and would appreciate privacy at this time.”
Approximately 48 hours later, Frank Valentini, the executive producer of One Life to Live, has also conveyed his sorrow and extended condolences to Davies’ family.
“I had the great pleasure of watching Amanda Slezak grow up during my tenure at One Life to Live and know that Erika’s role as ‘mom’ was her most important,” this executive said to People Magazine on Wednesday.
“I am so saddened to hear of her tremendous loss.
“My heart goes out to my dear friend, her family, and their friends during this difficult time.”
As previously noted, Slezak assumed the role of Lord on One Life to Live, a show that aired on ABC from 1968 through 2012 (with a brief revival as a Web series in 2013).
Slezak married Brian Davies in 1978, and she shared Amanda with him.
Brian is also an actor, well known for his roles in Convoy and The Age of Innocence. (In addition to Amanda, he and Slezak have a 44-year-old son, Michael Davies.
Shortly after her death, the soap opera actress got touching tributes from many in her field, including one from journalist Michael Fairman.
“This just broke my heart,” he tweeted on January 29. “My thoughts are with my lovely Erika at this time. I know how much Mom adored her children.
Amanda Elizabeth Davies’ death cause has yet to be determined.
