Steven Spielberg has regularly injected personal touches into his films, but never as explicitly as he did in The Fabelmans. While the film incorporates fictional characters performed by Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, and others, it is mostly based on Spielberg’s own youth, depicting the narrative of a little kid growing up in Arizona who aspires to be a filmmaker.
