Here’s Everything We Know So Far About ‘The Crown’ Season 6. On Netflix’s The Crown, Queen Elizabeth’s reign will end. The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, which debuted in 2016, will return for its sixth and final season, featuring performances by Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, Prince Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry, and others. Fans of the royal drama were ecstatic in 2020 when Netflix revealed that The Crown would be renewed for a sixth season after originally ending after five.

 

As we started discussing the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story, we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” series creator Peter Morgan explained in a statement.

When is The Crown Season 6 release date?

A release date has not been announced, but in the meantime, fans can look forward to Season 5 of The Crown premiering sometime in November 2022.

Elizabeth Debicki will make her debut as Princess Diana in Season 5 before continuing to play “The People’s Princess” in the sixth and final season of The Crown. The Tenet actress succeeded Golden Globe winner Emma Corrin as Princess of Wales in Season 4.

Who will play Queen Elizabeth in Season 6 of The Crown?

Harry Potter actress Imelda Staunton‘s reign as QEII begins with Season 5 and will continue in Season 6.

 

“I’m delighted to be here, inheriting the role of Queen Elizabeth from two outstanding actresses. Most recently, the wonderful Olivia Colman, and who could forget the actress who originated the part, Claire Foy,” Staunton said in a 2021 message from the Season 5 set. “I will do my utmost to maintain their very high standard. Hopefully, I look calm, collected and capable. My stomach, meanwhile, is doing somersaults.”

Season Five will also feature younger versions of The Prince. West’s 13-year-old son Senan West will play Prince William; Teddy Hawley and Will Powell will both play young Prince Harry, per Variety.

The actor playing Prince Harry in Season Six has yet to be cast.
