Kate Gosselin is on the offensive.
The much-criticized reality star hasn’t said much in the last couple of years… Even though her ex-husband Jon often said bad things about her in public interviews.
But then Collin, Kate’s 19-year-old son, appeared in a recent VICE TV documentary and said that his mother had hurt him.
And Kate can’t stay quiet for much longer.

As a sad reminder, Collin was sent to Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute in Pennsylvania in 2016 to live.
Eventually, he wrote his dad a letter begging to be saved from this place. Jon used the law to pay attention to his son’s pleas.
Collin has been living with his father since the end of 2017. He hasn’t talked to his mother since then.
Collin told the cameras in the above documentary that Kate took out her anger on him back in the day, and that she locked him up to keep him from talking about how she treated him.

Kate Gosselin responded by writing a long post on Instagram a few days ago in which she called Collin troubled and violent.
She said he has “received multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years,” has had many “attacks/outbursts,” including one with a “weapon,” and:
“His brothers, sisters, and I haven’t been directly involved in his life because he has a history of acting erratically and getting violent with us.”
Kate ended by saying, “That’s all I have to say about it, and I’m not going to talk about it any more right now.”

Gosselin’s Instagram post got a lot of comments, and she just couldn’t help but answer a few of them.
She wrote things like, “I’ve been quiet for a LONG time, but I’m sick of Collin and Jon controlling what has become my story, and it’s ALL false.”
“It’s time for me to tell my own story!”

Jon and Collin said that Kate never went to see her son in the psychiatric facility. Kate wrote back that she did go there when “approved by his treating physicians.”
When a follower asked her why she never wrote letters or called Collin at the facility, Kate said they were in touch.
“I did all of those things as often as his doctors said was good for him,” Kate wrote.
“Don’t worry, there’s a lot more you’ll never find out. I gave it everything I had and even more. Just like moms do!”

Kate defended her decision to put Collin in an institution very strongly. She told one person:
“I ask you, would you not do ANYTHING to protect your child or children from an attacker, even if the attacker was someone in your own home?
“And if the offender was one of your children, would you turn your head and let it go on? I doubt it very much.”

Gosselin then called Jon and Collin out as liars.
“I don’t support lies, no matter who says them,” she wrote. She also defended the statement that made fun of her child in public.
“I can’t back any stories that are twisted or made up.
“This is why I didn’t say in my statement that I agree with Collin’s false account of what happened.”

Why does she even say anything in this situation?
“I just wanted to clear the air because my child had wrongly accused me of crimes,” Gosselin wrote.
“I didn’t talk about how much time and attention it took away from my other children because I didn’t want to speak for them, but THAT is one of the worst things about it all.
“It hurts, and it hurts forever!”
