Reason of death for Wisconsin news anchor Neena Pacholke, 27, confirmed

Local officials have confirmed the cause of death for Neena Pacholke, a Wisconsin news journalist and former University of South Florida women’s basketball player.

Pacholke, 27, committed suicide, according to Wausau Police.

According to the officials, the News 9 anchor “reportedly made suicidal threats” before her body was discovered, prompting a welfare check during which cops discovered her body.

The department has stated that it will not provide any additional information.

“The Wausau Police Department and Marathon County Medical Examiner’s Office expressed condolences to Pacholke’s family, friends, and the many affected by his death.” “September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and we, along with Pacholke’s family, want to raise awareness about this stigmatized and frequently taboo subject,” police said.

“Anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, can experience suicidal thoughts.”

Kaitlynn Pacholke, Pacholke’s sister, confirmed the devastating loss on Instagram on Monday.

“I don’t know what to say,” Kaitlynn admitted. “My baby sister has left. My dearest friend of 27 years. It doesn’t feel real. I just want to wake up from this living nightmare.

Kaitlynn said, prior to the release of Pacholke’s cause of death: “For now, I know she’s not in pain anymore and I am thankful for that.”
