Stranger Things fans are preparing to say goodbye to some of their favourite characters in the forthcoming fifth and final season. Maya Hawke, who plays Robin Buckley in the Netflix series, wants her “hero’s moment” to bring her story arc to a close.

“I’d kill to have my hero’s moment,” she told Rolling Stone. “Like any actor, I’d like to die with honour.” But I adore the way the Duffer Brothers treat their performers. They write so brilliantly for me and everyone else because they fall in love with their actors and characters and don’t want to harm them.I think that’s a beautiful quality that they have, and I wouldn’t wish it away.”

Hawke also mentioned that her role on the streaming show is part of the Steve and Nancy team. However, the actor went into greater detail on Steve and Nancy’s relationship, saying, “I personally think that the thing that’s so beautiful about the show: it’s never really been about romance.” People on the show are always shipping characters, but the show is truly about friendship.”

The Duffer Brothers have indicated that they will attempt not to introduce too many new characters in Season 5 of the sci-fi drama.

“I just like shaking it up, so we shake it up by changing the plot or adding in a new monster. We’re doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5. I guess we’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters,” Matt Duffer told IndieWire.
