After everything that has happened on Season 6 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, fans have questions.
One of them is if Riley and Violet have any chance of still being together after everything.
So many things caused them to bump into each other. One of the problems was that Riley was “rude in Vietnam.” Remember, he didn’t bring a gift for Violet’s mom?
Even though Violet told the camera that Riley didn’t ask her about it, it turns out that he did. She really left him high and dry.
When Violet gets home, she tells her beautiful daughters that Riley is coming to see them. When they met him for the first time, he was taller than they had thought. (TLC) We saw Violet introduce Riley to her family for the first time this season.Sure, they had talked on the phone. Riley had already sent some gifts.
Her girls were very happy to see him. And Tuyet was especially surprised by how much taller Riley was than she had thought. Phones don’t give you all the information.

Riley gave gifts to Riley’s daughters when he visited. He had said in the past that he wanted to “spoil” them. But he didn’t have anything to give Violet’s mother. (TLC) When Riley came to visit, he brought gifts for both of the young women.That’s not a surprise, since Riley had told the camera before that he was looking forward to “spoiling” both of them. If things work out with Violet, of course.
So, here’s the deal. He didn’t have a gift for Violet’s mother, and this wasn’t just a slight. She said that he pretty much shot himself in the foot with Violet.
Violet’s mother was upset and disappointed that Riley didn’t give her a gift like he usually does. (TLC) She told them that in Vietnam, there was a cultural expectation. And Riley hadn’t done it, which made her feel bad about him.(People who watch 90 Days know that many cultures seem almost like pyramid schemes. People expect young people to “pay it forward” by helping their elders, with the promise that they will do the same for them in the future. Some of these cultures are also found in the U.S.
Riley didn’t help himself because Violet’s mom already thought he was too jealous and controlling.
Riley is an American in Vietnam, and Violet might be able to help him figure out how to get around better. …if she wanted to. (TLC) Could Violet have told Riley to bring a present for her mother to make her happy? Yes.It’s part of her culture, not his. Even if she wasn’t his local contact, she probably wants him to make a good impression on her mom. Right?
But Violet told the camera that she didn’t feel like she was to blame. She said that Riley could look up these things.
Violet says that Riley’s actions are “rude in Vietnam.” Some ways of being rude are almost the same in all cultures, but others, like how someone laughs or whether they accept or turn down a gift, are very different. (TLC)
She didn’t argue that point with him, though. To the camera only.She instead told him that some of his actions were “rude in Vietnam.”
Riley, on the other hand, said that some of her culturally appropriate teasing hurt him a lot, especially since he is Black. There are many cultural cues and subtleties at play.
Violet, who plays Riley on Season 6 of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, apologized to him in a comment that has since been taken down for throwing him under the bus on camera. She told him not to worry about getting a present for her mother. (Instagram)
A turn! Violet supposedly left a comment on Instagram, but she has since deleted it.She started by saying, “I see that people are picking on you, and I’m sorry.”
Violet said, “I should have told you that when you asked me what to buy for my mom, I told you that you don’t need to.”
Riley and Violet cuddled in the car as they left the airport, not long after they had met in person. (TLC) Violet said, “I was embarrassed to be on camera.”Too embarrassed to say, “It was my fault, so I blame you,” so instead they blamed you.
In the end, she said, “I’m sorry I hurt you on social media.”
Riley said he was surprised when a tour guide told him straight out what was going on in terms of culture. (TLC) Both Riley and Violet are very proud and set in their ways. Those are not bad things in and of themselves.
But they both seem to be hurting themselves and making it hard for them to be happy. , not to mention their own.
Put simply, they are very similar people. If they get married, it seems like they’ll be together for either 6 months or 60 years. The key will be getting them to stop being so stubborn.
