As Madrid tried to tie the game, Vinicius Junior hit the post five times. The 20-year-old substitute López scored a beautiful goal from a long distance, and Torres added a third.

This week, Barcelona and Real Madrid finish their U.S. tours. On Tuesday, Barcelona plays AC Milan in Las Vegas, and Real Madrid plays Juventus in Orlando, Florida on Wednesday.

Barca’s coach, Xavi Hernandez, and Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, both picked strong teams. Ilkay Gündogan and Oriol Romeu, who joined Barca this summer, started for them, and Jude Bellingham, who joined Madrid this summer, played for Madrid.

Ancelotti said, “We played a good game, both with and without the ball. We pressed them, had chances, and moved around a lot.” “The result is the bad thing. Ultimately, we went after them too much and lacked balance. The result hurts, but I’ll think about what we did right. Overall, we played well as a team and had a lot of chances to win.

“Hitting the woodwork five times in a match is strange, but it can happen.”

Romeu almost gave Barcelona the lead in the fourth minute when he hit the crossbar with a first-time shot. Then Dembélé scored the first goal after Gündogan found Pedri on the training ground and set the France international free inside the box.

Five minutes later, Ronald Araujo’s handball gave Madrid a penalty, but Vinicius’s shot hit the crossbar and almost went in. He then hit the bar again with a shot that almost went in.

Ancelotti said after the game, “We’re giving penalties a try.” “Luka Modric wasn’t on the field today, which is unusual because he usually takes penalties. It can be either Rodrygo or Vinicius. “We’re trying out.”

Frenkie de Jong was sent off before halftime for a rough challenge on Eder Militao. Andreas Christensen, Gündogan, and Ferland Mendy also left the game before the break because they were hurt.

In the second half, both teams made a lot of changes. After an hour, Ancelotti put Toni Kroos and Luka Modric on for Real Madrid. Aurelien Tchouameni’s long-range shot went off the bar and back to Ter Stegen, giving Madrid another chance to score.

After coming on as a substitute, López ensured the win by picking up the ball and beating Courtois from outside the box in the 85th minute. Torres then scored after some clever work in the box.

This is the third time Madrid and Barcelona have played a friendly Clasico in the United States. All three times, the Catalans have won.
