Authorities said Sunday that a shooting at a party in Indiana killed a 30-year-old man and sent others to the hospital.

The city of Muncie said in a Facebook post that police were called to a big party early in the morning because “several people were shot.”

The news station said that a witness told affiliate WISH that people at the block party were carrying guns and started shooting.

As of Sunday morning, victims were being treated at a hospital, and officials said that “more critical patients were flown to other facilities.”

“We are heartbroken to hear about this terrible event, and our deepest condolences go out to the family of the young man who died and to everyone who was hurt,” the city said.

No more information about the victims was given out. Authorities also didn’t share information about the suspects or their actions.

The police said there was no immediate danger to the public.

About 50 miles northeast of Indianapolis is the city of Muncie.
