Blink-182 has announced that founding member Tom DeLonge will rejoin the band for a 2023 tour, nearly a decade after their last reunion.

Work doesn’t appear to be all that bad for Blink-182. After a nearly ten-year sabbatical, the band has announced that founding member Tom DeLonge will return for a 2023 global tour and a brand new single, “Edging,” which will be released this Friday. According to various sources, the band will also release a new album next year.

DeLonge co-founded Blink-182 with Mark Hoppus in 1992. Travis Barker joined the band in 1998 after firing former drummer Scott Raynor. Enema of The State, Barker’s debut album with Blink-182, went multi-platinum and featured some of the band’s greatest singles, including “All The Small Things.”

After some scattered touring and releasing the Neighborhoods album in 2011, DeLonge left the band in 2015. The band had gone on permanent hiatus in 2005, but an aircraft disaster in 2008 that nearly killed Barker (and killed numerous friends) prompted a 2009 Blink-182 reunion tour. (Fortunately, no horrible catastrophes appear to have befallen the band members this time in reuniting the band.)

With a salaciously punny promo, Blink-182 broke the big news. A joyful pair gardening, styled like a medical or political commercial, with a variety of various caricatures! A man engaged in baseball! Blink-182 fans—including a lovely woman lounging by a pool!—express their delight that the band is “coming.”
