The rare skin disease Gianotti-Crosti syndrome has been found in Gus Moore, Mandy Moore’s son. Moore told her Instagram followers about the news on July 28, 2023. Gianotti-Crosti syndrome is a common rash in kids that usually affects the arms, legs, and face.
Moore posted a picture of her son eating a lollipop outside the doctor’s office as she told her followers about his diagnosis. She said that she and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, were confused when Gus got the rash, so they immediately took him to urgent care.
“Went to the hospital. Pediatrician. Dermatologist. Dermatologist for kids. He keeps smiling and laughing and going about his day like a rock star, “she typed.
Then, Mandy Moore said that Gus’s skin problem was a “viral rash in children” called Gianotti-Costi syndrome. She said the rash was all over his legs and the backs of his arms. Moore said that the rash can be treated with steroid cream and Benadryl and will last 6 to 8 weeks.
“All of this is to say that parenting is weird and hard, and sometimes you feel so helpless (and yes, I’m very thankful it’s just an itchy skin condition). Kids are tough, and as long as he keeps a smile, we’ll be fine, “she went on.
