Ryan Edwards is living in an inpatient rehab center right now. He was temporarily let out of jail to get help for his drug addiction.
We wish him the best as he tries to stop using drugs, but the truth is that even if he is finally able to do so, he will probably have to spend more time in jail.
Before his most recent arrest, Ryan followed and bothered Mackenzie Standifer and went on a drug-fueled bender.
And since Edwards was already on probation when all of this happened, finishing the program probably won’t be enough to set him free.

But when Ryan filmed a scene with Maci Bookout for this week’s episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, none of that had happened.
In fact, it seemed like Bentley’s mom and dad were almost back on track with how they raised Bentley.
During the conversation, Ryan said that every other part of his life was also a mess, which was true.

“Mackenzie is making my life a living hell. She doesn’t know why she left; it could have been anything. “I was outside in my garage because of my addiction,” he told Maci.
She told him, “Keep your attention on yourself and all these crazy kids, and stay away from her.”
“It doesn’t surprise me. Maci later told her husband, Taylor McKinney, “I know when we filmed the reunion and talked about starting over with co-parenting, she’s not going to let this happen, she’s not.”

“Then she went crazy whenever he and Bentley were going to do something together because she couldn’t go and it was just the two of them.”
‘
Yes, it is a little strange to hear that Maci is on Ryan’s side against Mackenzie, but it’s important to remember that she only knew Ryan’s side of the story at the time.
“I do think this has everything to do with Ryan and Bentley’s relationship getting stronger and me and Ryan trying to work together. “I don’t think she can deal with it,” Bookout said.

“Bentley is paying for everything, so we have to stay on the same side.” I hope this divorce doesn’t turn out to be a mess.”
Maci also said that Bentley was “kind of shocked” to hear that his dad was getting a divorce, but that it didn’t seem to bother or upset him.
“He’s never really liked Mackenzie that much,” she said.
But even though Maci hoped the Ryans’ breakup wouldn’t “get messy,” it quickly did.

Later in the episode, a Teen Mom producer named Kiki went to see Ryan to ask him about Mackenzie’s shocking claims.
He denied that he held a knife to her back. “She said I f—ing held a knife to her back or something like that,” he said.
“Everyone knows that when I get mad, I really get mad. So she’s going to use that against me. But I have never touched a woman in my life.”

Ryan has accused Mackenzie of cheating on him in public more than once, and it seems like he was stuck on the idea during their fight the night before.
He told Kiki, “I was like, she left this house last night, and there was only one reason why she left.”
“She can’t lie very well; she stumbles over every word she says, and I was like, ‘Where the f— did you stay last night?’ She didn’t have a good answer, though. So I put two and two together and got four.”
He then said that Mackenzie was angry that he was friends with Maci.

“I think that’s what really made Mackenzie mad, like, too. He said, “I don’t think she ever wanted us to be together, and Bentley didn’t like Mackenzie anyway.”
Kiki then asked him if he thought his co-parenting relationship made his wife feel “threatened.” He said, “No.”
“Yeah, I think that was the last straw for her.”
Eventually, the truth about the fight did come out:

“You’re a drug addict, getting a divorce, can’t go back to your house, and your kids don’t live with you anymore. Kiki said, “That’s a slippery slope.” This made Ryan say, “I messed up, I’m not going to lie.”
The producer then asked Ryan if he had relapsed because of all the recent drama, and Ryan said, “Yeah.”
So, yeah, we’re going to believe Mackenzie’s story since Ryan was high at the time of the incident and later came back and trashed the house.
Edwards will go back to court on August 12, when a judge will look at his progress and decide what will happen to him.
