Harry’s memoir and William’s angry response to it have put more distance between the two princes, but it looks like Charles is still trying to bring them back together.
A new report from the Daily Mail says that Harry and Meghan have been invited to join the rest of the royal family at Balmoral Castle in Scotland next month for a vacation.
The royal editor of the Mail, Rebecca English, says that all family members are likely to stay at Balmoral Castle at some point in the next few weeks.
“Except for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, whose “open invitation” to family gatherings hasn’t been officially taken back, but isn’t likely to be accepted either.”
Yes, English says that the offer is on the table and that all Harry and Meghan have to do is accept it.
Insiders think that if they go on the trip, it could be the start of a healing process that would lead to a restored royal family.
A source tells the outlet, “If true, that can only be a good thing, and it may give a glimmer of hope that personal relationships can be rebuilt at some point in the future.”
“It’s clear that this has been a very hard year for the Sussexes.”
People all over the world who are interested in the royal family are already talking about and analyzing this situation.
Some have even said it could be the first step toward Harry and Meghan going back to being royal.
But almost certainly that’s not true.
“If they did come back after all the attacks, it would be one of the strangest things in royal history,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Mail.
Fitzwilliams continues, “It would be a shame for Meghan and Harry.”
“It’s crazy to think that Meghan and Harry could just walk back in after everything that has happened.”
Yes, it seems very unlikely that Harry and Meghan would want to go back to being royal.
Even if the couple wanted to, they might not be welcomed back into the group.
But even so, if the Sussexes go on vacation with Charles, they can send a strong message to the world.
And they might do well to take advantage of this chance and take back control of their story.
